Young People at the Heart of Schools’ Conference
420 delegates from 8 schools across our Multi Academy Trust attended the 3rd annual Education Conference held at Wade Deacon in February.
A total of 17 workshops were held throughout the day ranging from Mental Health & Well – Being through to Philosophy for Children allowing accessibility and relevance to primary, secondary and further education establishments.
The day began with a keynote presentation from ‘stand up’ educationalist Dave Keeling who expertly demonstrated how laughter and humour can improve achievement for all learners, with the day concluding with educational advisor, writer and trainer Mary Myatt whose theme was the High Challenge, Low Threat Learning Environment.
The day ultimately provided unique opportunities for colleagues across different educational sectors to discuss the latest initiatives in education and to share exciting new ideas.
Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive with delegates praising ‘the range of workshops on offer’ and the ‘immediate impact on teaching and learning.’ The general consensus was that it was incredibly beneficial to have primary schools, secondary schools and colleges working together in the same room – putting the education of our young people first.
